The most popular URL shortener on Twitter just teamed up with Imageshack’s Yfrog .

Could this spell trouble for TwitPic ?

In a blog post earlier today, Bit.ly revealed several major companies using its API (application programming interface) to share their content via the URL shortening service.

They include some big companies, including Google Reader , CBS , and Typepad .
