Twitter Adds SMS Support for O2 Customers in the UK

o2Back in March, Twitter inked a deal with Vodafone to enable outbound SMS to customers in the UK.

Today, a similar deal has been reached with O2, which will enable customers to both send and receive updates from Twitter with only standard text messaging rates applying.

Both deals follow Twitter removing SMS for all UK users last year because the cost of providing the service was simply too excessive.
