In SourceForge.net election, Torvalds and Gates tie for first

If the U.S. presidential election were strictly in the hands of U.S.-based open source developers and aficionados, Democratic candidate Barack Obama would be the hands-down winner, with 56% of the vote compared with 30% for John McCain and 14% for an unspecified independent candidate.

Hardly surprising in view of national polls, the results were tallied on SourceForge.net , an open source code repository, of SourceForge.net users and Slashdot.com...
