Twitter Decides To Censor Locally, Rather Than Block Globally, I...

Techdirt  Thu, 01/26/2012 - 22:01

Twitter just announced that it has set up the ability to block content on a country specific basis (e.g., if Germany demanded some content be taken down, Twitter can now just have that content blocked in Germany).

I know some people saw this and got upset about "censorship!" but looking at the details, it actually looks like Twitter is doing a smart thing here.

Play nice when extending \Exception - Lukas Smith

Planet PHP  Sun, 05/29/2011 - 05:55

Another scenario is adding a new required parameter. In both cases don't!

Planet PHP  Thu, 02/24/2011 - 07:00

When I was hired at dealnews.com in 1998, my primary focus was to get our message board (Phorum) up to speed.

I had written the first version as a side project for the site. Message boards were a lot simpler back then. Matt's WWWBoard was the gold standard of the time.

And really, the functionality has been only evolutionary since. We added attachments to Phorum in 2003 or something.

That was a major new feature.
