Giving out details about your Super Bowl ad prior to the game used to be a marketing no-no, but that strategy makes less sense in the age of social media.

Two days before the game, many advertisers had already loaded their Super Bowl ads onto YouTube.

For some, like Volkswagen, this seemed to pay off, but for others it’s hard to say.
