When Steve Jobs died two weeks ago, I was uncertain how I should feel.

Sure, he was a transformative figure in the technology universe, and I think it’s sad whenever someone with such a distinct personality — and less patience for fashion than I have –passes away.

But I had trouble comprehending the outpourings of digital weeping that cascaded across Facebook like a tsunami and slowed Twitter to a crawl.
