LinkedIn has long let users follow companies, but Thursday the professional networking service is finally allowing the more than two million businesses with company pages to post status updates to their followers.

These apps and services connect to your social accounts and transform profile pictures, status updates and mobile photography into fun and meaningful memories.

So if your main concern with Facebook is that you may post things you later regret, then maybe Facebook should help by enabling features that could prevent the drunk-posting of pics and status updates.

In this age of real-time streams and dead-simple status updates, blogs often feel like the uncared-for step-child or a website; indeed, many folks are trading their blogs for pages that simply track their various lifestreams (tweets, facebook status, flickr images, and more).

While this sort of thing is trendy and interesting, it also sucks:

Back in September, we noted our skepticism of some police and press reports about burglars using Facebook to pick their targets.

It makes for a good story, but it just seems like an incredibly inefficient way to go about things -- and even with certain Facebook status updates, you have no idea if that means everyone in the house is gone.

It just seems a hell of a lot easier to use other methods.
