As I said in my last post we are not yet sure if we need to make some changes to namespaces before we can move from alpha to beta in the current 5.3.0 release cycle.

What I did not ask for explicitly is feedback from people that have already started developing code with namespaces.

These people are likely the best source of feedback on the current state of namespaces and if the proposed changes to namespaces would be useful or not.

I was just at a very interesting keynote by Microsoft's Joe Stagner. He had some interesting news, so I didn't want to wait until my next php|tek daily report to blog about this.

Joe had an interesting presentation, he kept it short and to the point, and had the majority of his time dedicated to Q&A.

Naturally, being in a PHP audience, the questions were about Yahoo, Zend, Microsoft's open source policies.

On the PHP 10.0 blog, Stas does a little benchmarking of a big part of each request to a Zend Framework application - the Loader.

Two bloggers have commented on the recent nomination of Stefan Esser to eWeek's "Top 100 Most Influential People in IT" - Ben Ramsey and Stas (on the PHP 10.0 Blog).

Ben congratulates Stefan for the nomination, for making the list when others in the PHP community didn't.
