And the Sign of the Beast is 6 (Gbps that is)

Linux Today  Thu, 01/07/2010 - 01:33

Linux Magazine: "In the quest for more performance there are two new standards for SATA and SAS focused on doubling current throughput to 6 Gbps.

While the standards may sound like a nice potential boost don’t expect individual hard drives to increase in performance."

Extremetech  Thu, 03/19/2009 - 09:00

Before the reinstall -- the system recognized all three of my drives -- a WD120 Gb (IDE), a Maxtor 80 Gb (IDE) and a WD2500KS (SATA drive).

My OS was installed on the WD 120 Gb IDE drive and I've reinstalled it on the same drive. Now the new OS reinstall doesn't recognize the WD2500KS (SATA drive).
