This week I've been using phpMyAdmin for what feels like the first time in years.

I'm happier at the command line, but needed some graphical representation of information and easy ways to export example queries for the book I'm working on.

I noticed that phpMyAdmin now has a Designer tab, which shows relationships between tables and allows you to define them.

When asked to review the new edition of Marc Deslisle's book Mastering phpMyAdmin 3.3.X for Effective MySQL Management, I said yes, as I already liked one of the previous editions a lot.

Again I was surprised, how good the book is.

New on NETTUTS.com today there's a tutorial about building a simple RSS feed for your CodeIgniter application based on the contents of a MySQL database and a standard MVC setup of files to handle the request.
