Why I invented Kinetic Rule Language (KRL)?

Lambda the Ultimate - Programming Languages Weblog  Fri, 04/29/2011 - 23:14

Phil Windley whose blog posts on his startup Kynetx I sometimes mention here, since the company's product is built around a DSL, posted a nice item on reasons for designing a DSL.

While partly about why people should go ahead and learn KRL, the post discusses some of the business advantages for building a product around a DSL, and some of the reasons for using and building DSLs that we here take for granted but not everyone else is cognizant of.

Phil Windley posted a few useful links about this topic following WWW2008.

Bonus question: How is this item connected to the one I posted earlier today?

Phil Windley's DSL adventures

Lambda the Ultimate - Programming Languages Weblog  Sun, 09/07/2008 - 00:04

Phil Windley has has a new startup, and he is documenting some of aspects of their design process (business and technical) on his blog.

For us the nice part is that he is building a DSL. Here is an explanation why building a DSL makes sense (not that we need one, over here, but still a nice analysis).

And here is a discussion of high order perl and parsing.
