Yes, the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook briefly sat atop Amazon’s best sellers list, but for the most part the general public still doesn’t see the point of a laptop that is seriously handicapped when an internet connection isn’t available.

When your Chromebook is offline, you can’t do much more than browse through the locally-saved files you crammed into its paltry internal storage.

The uTorrent team has rolled out the stable release of uTorrent 2.2 today. The highly anticipated release is the first to open up BitTorrent's App Studio to uTorrent's 65 million users and introduces optimized proxy privacy settings.

To emphasize the collaboration with independent artists, the launch of uTorrent 2.2 coincides with a promotion of the free-to-download film ‘Four Eyed Monsters'.

BitTorrent Apps Arrive, But What’s in Store?

Today, BitTorrent Inc. officially debuts the BitTorrent Apps platform in a non-Beta client. The company chose the smaller BitTorrent Mainline client over their leading brand uTorrent for the release, giving 14 million users access to their App platform.

The question is, however, how big the demand for Apps among BitTorrent users will be.

After Vuze and uTorrent, the BitTorrent Mainline client is the third most-used BitTorrent client in the western world based on the number of active users.
