A recent study from Gartner is forecasting mobile platform market share up to 2014, and echoes the results of earlier studies regarding Android’s current momentum.

Enterprise Mobile Today: "Android's momentum is sputtering a bit as the messy rollout of Android 2.2, or Froyo, continues -- there's been delays, missing features, handsets left out of the update altogether and rumors of Motorola lawyering up to stop users from doing their own upgrades."

ZDNet: "I'm less of a Google or Apple fanboy than I am an OpenOffice.org fanboy. It's one of the greatest values in consumer open source, ever."

ChannelWeb: "The Ubuntu development community spent much of the last year losing a lot of momentum, as Microsoft gave birth to its Windows 7 operating system and its latest releases of the Linux OS failed to overly impress."

I was just a gadfly, so LtU folks who actually presented etc. at the unconference can talk more in-depth, but it seemed to me that Scala is getting serious momentum.

More power to it, we could stand to have a "better" Java.
