In fact, there are now so many that the total Internet traffic generated by Netflix has outgrown that of BitTorrent.

Most streaming Netflix has been the single biggest source of North American Internet traffic during prime-time hours for a while now, another significant data point in the shift away from traditional sources of movies and TV.

The latest report from the Sandvine research firm shows the trend continues, with Netflix now capturing almost 33 percent of peak downstream traffic.now goes to non-PC devices
