Microsoft highlighted an update to SharePoint Online during the Day 1 keynote at its SharePoint 2011 conference in Anaheim, Calif.
The major update will offer Business Connectivity Services, among other features, enabling developers to have read-write access to Web services for building cloud-based front-ends to data sources.
