Intel and Micron Introduce 64GB Single-Chip Flash Storage

Intel and Micron jointly announced a new TLC NAND memory device offering improved cost and higher storage capacity for USB, SD Flash card and consumer electronics.

TLC stands for Triple-Level Cell and it offers a 20% reduction in size and will be able to produce 4TB of storage from a single wafer of the chips and 64GB single-chip Flash devices.

Intel, Micron Announce 3-Bit/Cell Flash Card Tech

Micron and Intel have jointly announced a new 3-bit-per-cell NAND device that Micron will begin producing in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Expect the chips to reduce the cost of flash cards, for cameras and other devices, even further.
