If you thought Startup Weekend was a hackathon, you'd be about half right. According to a recent report, the event's focus has shifted from executing clever tech tricks to solving problems in a community.

It's an exercise in practical entrepreneurship rather than pure coding.

In a lot of organizations, budgeting is a funny exercise that requires you to "use it or lose it" at the end of the year while also having surprisingly detailed plans for next year's money.

eBook Burning?

Book burning, at least in modern democracies, is supposed to be something of the past. Indeed, with books taking to devices like the Kindle, burning would seem an unlikely, if possible, exercise.

That may or may not be quite so, however, depending on how you read last week's news.
