Microsoft has recently detailed their "Compiler as a Service" initiative in a whitepaper. The whitepaper calls the project Roslyn.

Related, IBM sponsors the Eclipse IMP project for its X10 language (and the X10DT).

IMP is also used for Eelco Visser's Spoofax IDE and WebDSL IDE.
