Last month the second case against a UK-based BitTorrent site came to an end. Two administrators of FileSoup had their case dropped by the authorities and were free men once again.

This week, personal belongings that were seized during the house raids were released and returned, but what should have been a celebration turned out to be a great disappointment.

"Quit Facebook Day" Only Affects 2% of U.S. Users

Have you heard of "Quit Facebook Day?" If not, you're not alone. In response to the recent Facebook privacy issues, a batch of users founded this celebration of-sorts in hopes that thousands more would join their commitment to deactivate their Facebook accounts come May 31.

Well, that's tomorrow, and it appears to be a bust.

It was such a fun calendar that for years to come readers would ask me when we were going to print another.

Moving Beyond the First Firefox Billion

You may have noticed the odd bit of celebration around the magic billion downloads milestone for Firefox.

Of course, as Mozillans themselves point out, that figure doesn't tell us very much; more useful, perhaps, are stats like 300 million users, but that too is only an estimate.
