Public Call for Papers: What Does That Mean? - Anna Filina

Planet PHP  Mon, 07/18/2011 - 13:37

Some of you may have already heard that the ConFoo call for papers is already open.

The great thing about it this year, is that it’s public. This means that anyone can vote on the proposals.

Besides being fun for the speakers and attendees, it opens up a whole lot of possibilities.

PHP North West 2011 - Lorna Mitchell

Planet PHP  Tue, 06/07/2011 - 04:54

We might still be in the thick of the summer conference season, but there's an event coming up this autumn which has me very excited: PHP North West 2011.

This is a regional PHP conference based in Manchester, UK, and I've been involved with it since it began (I'm surprised to find this is our fourth edition, it still feels like a shiny new adventure!).

This year the dates are 8th and 9th of October and with an added tutorial day on the Friday, it is bigger (and of course better) than ever.

In case you missed the announcements, here are the main things you need to know:

Yes, it's that time of the year again, where the call for papers for PHP@FrOSCon takes place.

As in the past 5 instances of this amazing event, the PHP Usergroup Dortmund - in cooperation with other user groups e.g. from Cologne - will organize the PHP@FrOSCon project room with a dedicated session program.

And it's time to propose your talks for this now, since the CFP will end on May 23rd.

PHPNW10: Call for Papers - Lorna Mitchell

Planet PHP  Tue, 06/29/2010 - 02:30

It's official, PHP North West 2010 is definitely happening ... and for that we'll need some people to pop along and give a talk!

As in previous years, we'll first of all deal with selecting the papers for our main conference day, 9th October.

Talks can be 60 minutes or 30 minutes, can be on any subject if you can persuade us it's relevant to PHP developers, and speakers anywhere on the spectrum from expert to newbie are welcome.
