PHPNW11 Conference – The Sponsors - Stuart Herbert

Planet PHP  Thu, 10/13/2011 - 07:00

The PHP North West User Group ran it’s 4th (and largest yet!) PHP conference – PHPNW11 in Manchester last weekend.

This year, many of the sponsors were here not to drum up new business, but to hire new talent, continuing a trend from PHPUK11 earlier in the year.

Sponsoring a conference is cheaper than paying traditional recruiters, with no shortage of motivated attendees to talk to.

PHPUnconference Comes to Manchester - Lorna Mitchell

Planet PHP  Tue, 11/30/2010 - 02:40

I'm very excited to hear that the PHPUnConference Europe (@phpuceu on twitter) is coming to Manchester on February 19th and 20th!

So excited, in fact, that I've rushed out and bought my ticket (for a whole £40, that's a good investment in my opinion).

The event brings together the PHP community from across Europe to an unconference where the speakers are the presenters, and really anything goes!

Just finished my talk on the "Hidden Features of PHP" at the PHP Barcelona conference. First time me giving this particular talk, which I think (hope) went pretty well.

Big thanks to all the attendees for being there, especially those to braved the large crowd and asked questions.

The slides from the talk are now available online and can be downloaded at: barcelona_2010_hidden_features.pdf

Symfony Day Cologne and a symfony workshop - Stefan Koopmanschap

Planet PHP  Thu, 07/15/2010 - 15:30

Just like last year I will again be present this year at the Symfony Day Cologne, which is organized by my friends at Interlutions.

Last year was a huge success with many attendees, a wonderful list of speakers, and a great party afterwards.

This year will be at least just as good, and is slightly extended: I will be doing a full-day symfony workshop not just on the Symfony Day but also on the day after.
