Exciting Features For Ubuntu 9.04

Thankfully it's just me and not the rest of PHP internals. So today we has an IRC meeting to discuss namespaces in PHP.

We can to a final decision replacing the current double colon separator with a backslash to solve ambiguity issues with the current syntax.

In a new blog entry Lukas Smith notes that the latest alpha release, version 2, of the PHP 5.3 series is now available for download from the PHP QA website.

If you check the qa website you will see that there is a new alpha release of our next minor version PHP 5.3.0 out that is awaiting your testing (remember no whining about BC breaks if you did not test the pre-release versions).

Also this time around the Windows infrastructure is in place with its very own website and a large choice of different binaries for whatever flavor of Windows you prefer.

Aside from a few additions, it was mainly bug fixing in this release.


 

KOffice Releases 10th Alpha of KOffice 2.0

KDE.News: "The KOffice team, developers, students, packagers and bug reporters have prepared the final Alpha release of KOffice 2.0: KOffice 2.0 Alpha 10.

KOffice will enter feature freeze in two weeks, so the next release will be the first Beta."

So the title says it all, kinda ...

For the next alpha release of PEAR that will happen in 2 - 4 weeks we'll have a min dep of PHP 4.4 and 5.1.6, so basically excluding 5.0.0 - 5.1.5 Now why am I going to do that ?
