On PHPClasses.org there's a new article talking about a CMS that's "designed with developers in mind" - MODX, technically a "content management framework".

Even if you don't care about Symfony2 or Silex and instead prefer some other framework, there is stuff to benefit from going on inside the Symfony2 community.

Not only are the Symfony2 components all build to also work standalone, but key contributors are also building libraries and tools that should proof useful for the entire PHP ecosystem.

On his blog today Sameer Borate has a new post looking at using Doctrine DBAL to make schemas rather than having to make them by hand each time (can be very useful for reloads with fixtures).

In his previous post Vic Cherubini introduced his namespaced DataModler ORM class and showed how to create a basic model to work with user information to the database.

In this second part he looks at taking those models and saving their contents to the database.

Midgard2 10.05.1 was released yesterday, bringing a long-waited feature finally to the Midgard installation packages: the Midgard Runtime.
