Two years ago, a class action lawsuit was filed against the cable companies for not offering a la carte channels .

This is an issue that gets people up in arms -- even as studies have suggested that mandated a la carte would cost consumers more (though, others dispute those findings).

On the whole, I think that a la carte offerings that let people choose their own channels would certainly make consumers much happier (a good thing), but...
